(이 책은 머피 박사님께서 요한복음을 설명하신 책 입니다.제가 가장 감명받은 책이고 자주 읽은 책입니다.간략하게 요약 하겠습니다.)
머리말 성서 내용의 심리학적 정신적 의미를 알지 못하면 당신은 성서를 가지고 있지 않는 것과 마찬가지다. Paul said,"For the letter killeth,but the spirit giveth life".2 Cor.3:6
성서는 오랜 세월의 응축된 지혜를 담고 있습니다. 성서에 나오는 이야기는 비록 어떤 인물들은 의심할 것 없이 역사적 사실이지만 그 안에는 심리학,형이상학적 의미를 담고 있습니다. 2000년 전 역사적 이야기가 아니고 바로 지금 우리 자신의 이야기 입니다. 예수님,모세,바울...은 실제로 존재했던 인물입니다. 저자는 예수라는 인물이 실제로 살아있었고 소위 말하는 치유의 기적을 많이 행했다는 것을 믿습니다.
그러나,역사적 예수는 모든 인간 각자에 있는 우주적 원리를 의인화,상징화 한 것 입니다. 인간 예수는 그 자신에 대해서 그 자신 안에서 작용하는 진리를 발견했을 뿐입니다."Ye shall know the truth,and the truth shall make you free". 우상과 이상한 신들에게 절하지 마십시요.당신의 의식(意識) 이 유일한 살아 있는 실체요,당신의 신(God)인 것입니다.
1장 (1) In the beginning was the Word,and the word was with God,and the Word was God. (타인을 기도로써 치료하는 부재치료(不在治療)를 다룹니다.) 예를들면 당신의 어머님이 아프다고 하면 당신은 마음을 고요히하고 당신의 어머님을 만든 치유력을 생각하고,하느님의 치유력이 지금 당신 어머님을 조화,건강,평화의 완벽한 모습으로 치유하고 계신 다는 것을 알고 실제로 느껴야 합니다. 심지어 당신의 어머님이 집에서 평상시 같이 하시던 일을 하고 있다고 상상해야 합니다. 마음의 법칙에는 시간,공간의 제약은 없습니다.의사가 무엇을 말하던 주위 사람들이 어떤 불길한 것을 말하더라도 그런 데에 자신의 주의를 줘서는 안 됩니다. 당신은 모든 공포를 완전히 거부하고 당신이 선언하는 것은 당신의 어머님의 신체를 제어 할 수 있다는 확신을 가져야 합니다.
(7)The same came for a witness,to bear witness of the Light,that all men through him might belive.
예수님은 모든 사람 안에 있는 힘을 드러내고 설명하는 길 안내자 입니다. 그는 우리 모두에게 다음과 같이 말합니다."The thing I do,ye shall do and even greater things shall ye do."
예수님이 사용했던 힘은 우리 모두에게 있습니다. 만약 우리가 예수님이 했던 것 처럼 우리의 의식을 수용(受容) 의 지점에 까지 오르면 예수님이 했던 일들을 할 수 있습니다.우리도 장님의 눈을 뜨게 할 수 있고 귀머거리 귀를 트게 할 수 있고 죽은 자를 살릴 수도 있습니다.우리는 이론적으로는 동의하지만 마음 깊이는 실제로 믿지 않습니다.바로 이것이 우리가 자신이 선언하는 진리를 스스로 확신 시키기 위해서 계속해서 기도해야 할 이유입니다.우리가 자신은 아무개 아들이 라고 믿는한 결코 하느님의 일을 하지 못할 것 입니다.
(15)"He that cometh after me is preferred before me". The consciousness or conviction of being healed must precede the healing.
Jesus Christ in simple, everyday language means I am filled full of the feeling of being what I long to be.
The Lord is the power and the authority of our mind in tune with the infinite. God-Presence is none other than our consciousness or awareness. Many things seem impossible to the conscious mind,but to the Invisible power within man,all things are possible.
2장 (물을 포도주로 만드신 예수님의 첫번째 기적)
(1)And third day there was a marriage in cana of Galilee;and the mother of Jesus was there.
The mother of Jesus,reminding him of lack.means your moods of lack,fear,and doubt which challenge your ideal or desire.당신은 아마 이 글을 읽는 도중에도 그 어떤 것을 기원할 것 입니다.동시에 당신 마음안에는 당신의 기도를 반대하고 도전하는 것은 없습니까?
(3)And when they wanted wine,the mother of Jesus saith unto him,They have no wine.여기서 wine은 당신의 이상의 실현을 표현하는 것 입니다.they have no wine is a reminder of lack,a suggestion of doubt.It refers to the tension,anxiety,and fear grip the mind caused by the appearance of things,the verdict of the world,and the opinion of others. All these may challenge you.어떻게 이런 의심과 공포를 극복하십니까?The answer is given in the following:(4)Woman,what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. This is an oriental,graphic,and idiomatic expression signifying a complete mental rejection of all negative thoughts,and the recognition of the fact that there is but One Power,~우리가 소망하는 모든 꿈과 이상은 지금 바로 존재합니다.우리는 지금 현재의 상태(limitation)를 떠나서 우리의 이상의 실체를 느껴야 합니다.When we feel the thrill inside,we know that our prayer is answerd and that it will come into manifestation.
3장 (바리새인 니코데모라와 예수님과의 대화)
이 대화는 당신의 지성과 내부의 깊은 자아와의 대화를 말한다. 니코데모라는 보통사람, 즉 나타나는 외부현상에 의해서 판단하는 사람을 상징합니다. 바리새인은 생명을 주는 정신에 대해서는 무지하고 문자 그 자체에만 고집하는 사람을 말합니다. 그는 그 자신의 의식(consciousness)이 신(God)이고 창조적인 힘이고 그 자신을 해방시키는 구원자라는 사실을 모릅니다.The average man thinks of God as far off. 이 장에서 다시 태어난다는 것은 새로운 사고를 말합니다.하느님이 당신을 위해서 무엇을 해줄 것 이라고 기다리지 마십시요. God will do nothing for you except through your own thought. 하느님이 당신에 대한 사랑은 모든 것을 당신을 위해서 주었다는 것 입니다.You have all the equipment necessary to overcome all difficulties and obstacles.
(27)A man can receive nothing,except it be given him from heaven.
이것은 의식이 모든 것의 원인라는 것을 말한다. 다시 말해서 당신의 여태것 모든 경험은 당신 마음의 상태가 외부로 표출된 것을 의미한다.
4장 (우물가에서 예수님과 사마리아 여인과 대화)
사마리아 여인은 앞 장의 니코데모라와 같은 인물이다. (11)The woman saith unto him,Sir,thou hast nothing to draw with,and well is deep:from whence then hast thou that living water?
여기서 여인은 신과 신의 법칙에 대한 잘못된 믿음을 가진 우리의 의심과 공포를 의미한다.사마리아 여인같이 많은 이들은 기도하고 구원 받기 위해서는 어떤 종교에 들어가야 되고 의식,제단 등이 꼭 필요하다고 생각한다. 우물가에서 예수님과 여인의 대화는 외부의 현상 즉 오감각이 말하는 것과 자신의 소망과의 논쟁인 것이다. 자신의 큰 자아는 다음과 같이 말한다. 만약 당신이 갈망한 상태에 지금 있다고 당신이 믿으면 당신은 그대로 된다 라고 속삭인다. 동시에 작은 자아는 "그렇게 좋은게 사실일리 없어","주위를 보라구","샘은 깊고 물을 퍼올린 도구는 없어."당신의 외부감각을 중지시키고,당신 내부로 들어가서 문을 닫고 당신이 갈망하는 상태를 느껴야 한다.
(35)Say not ye,There are yet four months,and then cometh harvest? behold,I say unto you,Lift your eyes,and look on the fields;for they are white already to harvest.
We must cease postponing our good.당신의 소망 꿈 건강 평화는 바로 지금 존재한다.연기하지 말고 바로 지금 잡아라!
5장 You enter the rest when you detach your consciousness from the world and think of God and His laws.
The command by Jesus, or your own illumined reason,"Rise,take up thy bed and walk" is your own inner conviction which speaks to you,telling you that you are healed.It is command on the inside.
많은 이들은 안식일을 외부적,외형적 형식에만 치우친다. 안식일 날 못질을 하는 그런 노동을 하는 것이 죄라고 생각한다.이것은 터무니 없는것이다. 그것은 안식일의 내적 의미를 모르는 것 이다..The sabbath is the inner certitude of sense of stillness which follows true prayer.
6장 여기서 예수님을 따라오는 대중은 우리에게 하루 종일 따라 다니는 혼란스럽고 절망적이고 공포스러운 사고를 말한다. The person you are,the state of mind you possess,attracts the same situations,the same insoluble problems.If you change yourself,your whole life will change,You find that the things which upset you no longer have the same power over you.
요한복음을 요한이라는 사람이 썼다 라는 것은 증명되지 않았다. 역사적 증거도 없고 복음서에 첨부되어 있는 요한이라는 인물이 누구인지도 모른다. 이런 것은 중요하지 않다.왜냐하면 성서의 심리학적 진리는 이 천년 전이나 지금이나 똑같기 때문이다. 이 장에서 다루는 빵과 생선에 대한 이야기는 역사적 사건으로 보아서는 안된다. 그보다 세상 도처에서 항상 일어나는 사건으로 보아야 한다.
Move from the cares and anxieties of the world;
The good you claim,feel,and belive as true of others will,of course,be resurrected in their exprience,but you also will be blessed in countless ways,which means twelve basketsful are left over.
(다음은 예수님의 물위를 걷는 이야기)
Jesus is always walking on the waters of your mind,Jesus is the idea or desire you seek,the solution to your problems.The great wind that blew represents the negative thoughts and emotional turmoil present in the individual.
평화,조화,건강,기쁨,부,안전을 보장할 수 있는 정부는 없다. 우리의 진정한 안정은 우리의 신에 대한 지식과 신과의 일체감에서 온다. 몇년 전 저자는 스코틀랜드 출신의 장로교 목사와 이야기를 나눴다.그 분은 세계1차 대전 중에 사막에서 길을 잃었고 그는 성서를 문자 그대로 믿고 하느님에게 만나를 자신에게 보내 줄 것을 요구하고 실제로 공중에 떠있는 신비스러운 달콤한 물질을 먹어서 구조될 때 까지 견딜 수 있었다고 했다.
I have no reason to doubt the story of the scotch minister who said this substance-like-manna came floating in the air so he could eat it.yet,that is not the true bread.
(34)Then said they unto him,Lord,evermore give us this bread. This is your cry and the desire of all men everywhere.
(44)No man can come to me,except the Father which hath sent me draw him
우리의 의식상태가 똑같은 상황을 불러온다. 우리는 마음의 상태를 바꾸지 않는 한 그 틀에서 벗어 날 수가 없다.
We must exprience limitations in order to grow.
7장 당신의 마음 속에는 당신의 예수,소망을 죽이려는 사고가 항상 있다. 당신은 건강을 바라고 있다고 하자 이것은 예수님이 갈릴리(당신마음)를 걷고 계신 것이다. 이때 다른 생각이 와서 당신에게 다음과 같이 도전한다."너는 그것에 대해서 충분히 알고 있지 않아","너는 더 나빠질 거야","무슨 소용이 있어",등등..당신은 이러한 것 들을 허용해서는 안된다.의식을 병이나 증상 그리고 외부감각에 대해서 분리시켜서 당신의 건강으로 의식을 집중시켜야 한다.
8장 (간음한 여인에 대한 이야기)
백년 전 위인 큄비는 이 장에서 나오는 간음한 여인을 다음과 같이 해석했다. 그녀는 과거 전통적 방식을 버리고 예수님의 가르침을 받아 들이는 것을 의미한다.그러므로 그녀는 그 당시 사람들의 눈으로는 죄인 것이다.
인간이 삶의 법칙에서 어긋나게 살고, 아무리 흉악한 죄를 지어 사회로 부터 비난을 받더라도 만약 그가 자신을 책망하지 않는 의식의 상태로 오르면 세상 사람들은 더 이상 그를 비난하지 않고 아무도 그를 해꼬질 하려고 하지 않을 것이다.
Though your sins be scalet,they shall be white as snow,though red like crimson they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18
whenever you feel yourself prone to be angry,think immediately of your aim,goal or objective in life. You are here primarily to resurrect God's qualities.
(24)If ye belive not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. You become what you claim and feel yourself to be. Except you now believe and accept as true that you now are what you long to be,you will remain as you are.
The acceptance of your desire for health would be your savior and redeemer.
(58)Before Abraham was,I am
Before any manifestation appears, it must first come out of the invisible. we must first have the feeling of conviction in our own consciousness.
9장 이 장에서는 선천적 장님에 대한 이야기와 흔한 질문이 나온다.
모든 사람은 이 삼차원의 세계로 태어날때 정신적인 면에서 보면 장님으로 태어 난 것이다.우리는 무형의 상태를 떠났고 지금 이 세상을 보고 외부의 환경과 외부의 상태에 대한 우리의 지배력에 대한 의식을 잃은 채 외부로 나타나는 제한과 한계를 보게 된다.
Our birth is called the fall of man,and our awakening to the power of God within us is called being born again. If you say there is no way to solve this problem,that the situation is hopeless,that is spiritual blindness.
그 당시에는 장님으로 태어난 것은 과거의 업 때문이고 그 업 때문에 현세에서 고통을 받게 된다고 믿었다. 또한 부모의 죄는 자식대로 이어져서 자식이 받게 된다고 믿었다. 예수님이나 계몽된 사람은 인간이 그의 과거 업 때문에 눈이 멀게 된다는 그 당시 널리 퍼진 미신을 거부합니다.(박사님은 왜 선천적 기형의 아이가 태어나는 가에 대해서 설명하십니다.부모의 습관적인 사고와 공포,긴장은 마음을 통해서 자식에게 전달 된다고 말씀하십니다.부모가 2세를 만들 수 있는 행위(coition)시의 의식상태가 그대로 자식에게 반영되어 나타나게 된다고 하십니다.만약 그런 행위시 부모중에 보기 싫은 상대,듣기 싫은 상대가 의식에 있으면 그와같은 의식의 상태에 있는 아이가 태어 난다고 합니다. 또한 이런 행위 전에 음주나 마약등은 절대 금해야 한다고 하십니다.박사님 책중에서 Great bible truth for human problem 페이지 199~201을 참고 하십시요.)
It is also true that a mother through prayer,may change the mental and physical nature of her child while he is still in the womb.
(41)If ye were blind, ye should have no sin:but now ye say, We see;therefore your sin remaineth.
To open the eyes of the blind or the healing of a cancerous condition through prayer seems impossible to these people,for they are belive in the verdict of the race mind and world-opinion only.
10장 우리가 인생에 있어서 모든 경험은 우리의 의식상태를 통해서 온다.
외부로 어떤 무엇이 발생하려면 먼저 의식안에서 일어 나야만 가능하다. 우리가 원하는 것을 이루려고 자신의 의식상태에 있지 않는 것을 외부의 노력으로 이루려고 하면 결코 그것을 이룰 수 없다. 먼저 mental eqivalent를 이루어야 한다.
feeling precedes all manifestation. You must deny and reject the old way of thinking and reacting before you can possibly rise to higher levels.
(17)I lay down my life,that I might take it again,
당신의 새로운 이상을 소생 시키려면 당신은 먼저 당신의 과거 당신에 대한 개념,자신의 평가에 대해서는 죽어야 한다. 새로운 것이 태어나기 전에는 과거의 것은 죽어야 한다.
(18)No man taketh it from me 어떤 사람이 사살 당했다고 가정하자. 비록 다른 이가 총으로 사살했더라도 그는 실제로는 스스로를 죽인 것이다. 소위 살인자는 죽음을 당한자의 의식의 상태를 이행하는 도구에 불과하다. 의식이 유일한 원인이고 인간 그 자체가 원인이고 결과인 것이다.
No man cometh unto me,save I the Father draw him, When we stand on the conviction that God is and we dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High,no man can take anything away from us,no evil shall befall us,for we belive God is with us.this is faith.It is conviction. 11장 (24)Martha saith unto him,I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.Your own consciousness has the power to resurrect you from any state of limitation.
마르다 같이 세상사람들 대부분은 먼 미래를 보고 다음과 같이 말한다."언젠가 나는 나의 목표를 달성할것이다. 언젠가 나는 행복 해질것이다."이런 태도는 옳지 않다.
만약 우리가 믿기만 한다면 우리의 소망을 즉시 실현 시킬 수 있다.
(39)Jesus said, Take ye away the stone.
여기서 stone의 의미는 대중적 믿음,공포,인간이 만든 법칙의 수용을 상징한다.
The health,joy,and peace we seek is held in the tomb by narrow,confining,restricted thoughts which imprison the life forces. 돌은 믿음으로써 치워져야 한다.
Lazaru,come forth represents the absolute faith in the working of the immutable,changeless law which always responds automatically to our inner knowing. It is command from the inside of the one who knows,"I and my Father are one." 12장 The passover means passing over,i.e.,overcoming problems or obstacles,being delivered from bondage.
유대인은 매년 이집트로 부터 탈출을 기념하는 행사를 갖는다. 여기서 이집트의 의미는 불행,고통,비탄,보이지 않는 테러등에 대한 믿음으로 가득찬 대중적 마음을 말한다.담장과 쇠창살로 만든 것만이 감옥이 아닙니다. 가장 큰 감옥은 마음의 감옥입니다.
All stories in the Bible are for the purpose of teaching us how to get out of trouble and realize our freedom.
잠재의식은 그가 받은 지적 틀의 상과 정확히 같은 것을 다시 만들어 냅니다. 우리의 습관적 사고가 우리의 운명을 결정한다는 것을 잊어서는 안됩니다. 그것은 현재의 우리 자신을 만들었습니다.
we can never manifest our good in a depressed state. 13장 That thou doest,do quickly. Don't fool around. Be quick to realize the truth and galvanize yourself into the feeling of being what you long to be.
It is said Judas hanged himself,we hang ourselves by our own hand;i.e.,we die to the old and we live in the new by realization of the truth. The old man must die before the new man is born.
병자였던 이가 지금은 치유된 사람에게서 무엇이 일어났는가? 그는 그 전의 자신에 대해서 목을 매어 자살하고 신 안에서 새로운 자신이 태어난 것이다.
Reject the world and it's false belifes;become alive to God;then you are peter denying all earthly masters. 14장 God is infinite therefore man is infinite.
We must ,in other words,build into our mentality the mental eqivalent of what we desire;then we have arrived at the point of acceptance in our mind which is followed by the outer manifestation.
성서가 진실로 말하려고 하는 것은 예수님이 사용했던 힘은 지구상의 어느 누구라도 사용할 수 있다 라는 것입니다. 예수님은 우리와 같이 똑같은 방식으로 태어난 인간 입니다. 그러나 그는 명상,기도,하느님과의 대화를 통해서 다른 어떤 이와도 비교 할 수 없는 높은 곳에 이르렀습니다. 하지만,누구나 지혜나 힘에 있어서 예수님을 능가하지 못할 이유는 없습니다. 인간 안에 있는 영광과 지혜는 끝이 없습니다. 예수님은 더 이상 오르지 못한 극단에 올랐다고 말하는 것은 어리석습니다.
All prayer function in the present tense.we accept the is-ness of our desire now by seeing the accomplished fact in perfect confidence,peace,and poise. God is all there is. God is no respect of persons. The law in and of itself has no morals. The rain falls on the good and the evil.
(30)Hereafter I will not talk much with you:for the prince of this world cometh,and hath nothing in me.
공포심이 당신 마음에 와도 당신으로 부터 아무런 반응이 없고 평화로우면 당신은 더 이상 대중적인 암시의 희생물이 아닙니다. 만약 외부의 어떤 것이 우리를 불쾌하게 하면 그것은 우리가 그렇게 하도록 허락하는 것과 같습니다. 우리는 그것 과의 관계를 바꿔야 합니다. 그러면 그것은 더이상 우리에게 아무런 영향을 주지 못합니다. (박사님의 책 secret of I ching의 33페이지에는 다음과 같은 구절이 나옵니다.what you say "no" to in life cannot enter into your exprience.) 만약 당신이 아침신문을 읽고 그것이 당신을 불안하게 되도록 허락하면 그것은 나쁜 것이고 이 세상의 왕자(the prince of this world)가 와서 당신을 뒤 흔들게 합니다. 15장 God is the true vine,for I AM means God,and all men are rooted in God or Life.
If you fail to see that the solution to your problem is in your own mind,you have actually severed yourself psychollogically from the Divine Center and no answer comes.
Stop demoting and criticizing yourself.when you do,you criticize God.
만약 당신이 아프면 당신의 가장 중요한 친구는 건강이다.그러므로 당신은 당신 친구를 위해 당신의 생명을 내놓아야 합니다. (lay down your life for your friend)의 의미는 당신은 질병에 대한 믿음에 대해서는 스스로 죽고 완벽한 건강에 대한 믿음과 확신 속에서 일어서야 한다는 것이다.
desires,ideas,and urges come to you from God;all you have to do is to accept them.
You have no cloak for your sin because you can have no pretense,alibi,or excuse for missing the mark when you understand the law of life. 16장 If you fear danger,failure,disease,old age,and misfortune,you are murdering-i.e.,psychollogically you are seperating yourself from God's love,light,truth,and beauty.
(21)A woman who she is in travail hath sorrow,become her hour is come:but as soon as she is delivered of the child,she rememberth no more the anguish,for joy that a man is born into the world.
당신이 기도할때 오히려 상황이 더 악화되는 경우는 없는가? 이것은 마치 방청소와 같다. 청소시 먼지가 일으켜 진다. 당신은 당신 앞에 펼쳐질 기쁨을 위하여 어려움을 겪고있다. 이것은 법칙이 작용하고 있고 당신의 아이(이상,소망)를 낳으려 하는 좋은 징조 인것이다. 기도는 잠재의식을 바뀌게 한다. 마음 깊이 있는 공포,혼란등의 존재는 그들의 견고한 요새를 계속 가지고 있으려고 당신에게 저항한다. 당신은 이것을 몰아내기 위해서 소동을 일으키게 된다. 어떤 것이 탄생하기 전에는 또 다른 어떤 것은 없어져야 한다. 많은 사람들은 비록 그들이 터널 속을 거의 90퍼센트를 지나 왔지만 가끔 다시 뒤돌아 가버린다. 만약 그들이 몇 일만 더 견뎠다면 그들은 새로운 빛을 보았을 것이다. 가끔 기도는 터널을 지나가는 것과 같다. 17장 인간이 그의 잠재의식을 깨끗이 정화하고 그의 의식이 모든 공포와 제한으로 부터 해방되면 둘은 하나가 된다.
You have power over all flesh means you have dominion over your world. The word flesh infers your body,environment,five-sense-evidence,race belife,and world-thought. You have power over all flesh or man-made opinions. God willed the world to man,but man is asleep to his inner powers. 18장 (10)cutting off of the right ear symbolizes that we refuse to listen to objective evidences,outward appearances,or to outer descriptions and viewpoints of other people. As long as we have masters,other powers,or beliefs which dominate or control us,we are slaves.
당신의 의식은 당신의 모든 경험과 외부 세계와 인간관계를 결정합니다. 만약 당신이 이루지 못한 소망,꿈,목표가 있을때 당신은 마음깊이 공포,걱정 또는 이루지 못하게 하는 장애물을 보고 있는 것이다.
The drama of the crucifixion is a mystical one. 이것은 유태인 이라고 불리우는 사람들이 어떤 인간을 죽이는 이야기가 아니다. No one can kill your savior. 19장 (11)Jesus answered,Thou couldest have no power at all against me,except it were given thee from above;therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. the conscious mind has no real power as the subjective alone is creative.All power is in the subjective mind.
You die in Golgotha when you now vividly imagine and feel that you are what you want to be.In order for man to transform himself,he must positively discard old patterns of thinking and feeling;this is painful to him.He wants to hold on to the old.
24절 에서는 그들은 제비뽑기를 했다.라는 구절이 나온다.보통 인간들은 우연한 사건,사고,불운,등을 믿는다.There is no chance in a world of law and order. 20장 The resurrection from the dead is taking place every hour of the day in many parts of the world. 21장 우리 모두는 어부와 같다. 왜냐하면 우리의 문제에 대한 해결책은 우리 자신 안에서 끌어 올리려고 노력하기 때문이다.
